
Johnson Mwawasi Kilangi
Johnson is a Project Finance and Public Private Partnership (PPP) expert with practical experience in the mechanics of structuring and delivery of large infrastructure projects in East Africa. He has vast operational experience in infrastructure project cost and cashflow planning, project accounting, financial modelling, project finance structuring and negotiation and capacity building in PPPs. Besides, he is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He is also a member of the World Association of PPP Units and Professionals (WAPPP).
Johnson in the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lean Africa Consultants Limited, a project finance and PPP advisory firm incorporated in Kenya. Among others, he has been involved in the advisory of clients both in the public and private sector in the East African region helping them in the structuring of bankable projects, identification, negotiation and closure of financing.
He is also the Founder of the Africa Project Finance Program, a bespoke training program that equips professionals with practical skills and knowledge in project finance and PPP. He is also spearheading continuous capacity building in infrastructure project financing and development in Africa through the Africa Project Finance Program Alumni Association.
Johnson holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Finance (Specialization in PPP) from Middlesex University, London, an APMG PPP Certification, a First-Class Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from Strathmore University in Kenya, Certified Public Accountancy (CPA) by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Body (KASNEB) and has undergone various local and international training in infrastructure project structuring, planning and management.Â
