
Stephen Mutisya
Stephen is a Contract Manager, Claim specialist and a Scheduling Engineer. Stephen is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Society of Construction Law (SCL).
He brings on board significant practical experience in managing various complex contractual risks, payment valuations, claim management as well as preparation, monitoring and tracking Project Time Schedules. He has participated in disputes referred to Dispute Boards and Arbitral Tribunals.
Through the projects he has been engaged in, he shares his practical experience in the administration of the FIDIC suite of Contracts and Joint Building Council (JBC) Standard Contract. Additionally, he brings to the Program his practical and hands-on experience in planning & scheduling of projects as well as delay analysis.
He is equipped with the necessary skills in managing various complex contractual and schedule risks that affect the successful implementation of construction projects. He has provided contract management and planning services for key infrastructure projects of varying complexities both civil and building projects in Africa including Kenya, Uganda and Ghana. Â
Stephen holds an undergraduate degree in Construction Management, and he has undergone various courses in Alternative Dispute Resolution that are offered by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Stephen has a keen interest in the development of construction law and good practices in contract management. He has contributed to the field of contract management in Kenya by writing articles on topics in construction law and giving expert talks to audiences. He is a proponent of Dispute Avoidance and the critical role it plays in enabling parties achieve their commercial objectives.
